How to Start
Assessment FAQs
-
I provide comprehensive assessments for autism, ADHD, cognitive functioning, learning differences, diagnostic clarification, and neuropsychological concerns. Each is tailored to your needs and conducted with compassion and respect.
-
Assessments typically involve an in-depth clinical interview, standardised questionnaires, and cognitive testing. I take a strengths-based, neuro-affirming approach exploring not just challenges, but how your brain naturally works and what supports your wellbeing.
-
Cognitive assessments explore general thinking skills like reasoning, memory, and attention.
Neuropsychological assessments go deeper, examining how brain-based processes affect daily life, learning, or work performance. The goal is always clarity and practical recommendations.
-
There’s no need to study or worry- just come as you are. It can help to bring previous reports, school records, or examples of challenges you’d like to discuss (however if you do not need access to these- that’s ok!). You’ll receive clear guidance before each session so you know what to expect.
-
We’ll meet to discuss your report in detail, with space for questions and reflection. I’ll explain your results in plain language and provide practical recommendations, supports, and referrals if needed. You’ll also receive a written report to keep or share with others.
-
Many components can be completed via telehealth, especially interviews and questionnaires. Some formal testing may need to occur in person. We’ll discuss what’s possible based on your location and accessibility needs.
-
No you do not need a referral to have psychological testing, however we do accept referrals from other health professionals.
-
Psychological assessments are highly personalised and therefore it can be difficult to provide a quote prior to meeting with you.
We recommend to book an initial assessment intake session to discuss what you are seeking & we can provide a quote at the end of this session.
